This position leads health literacy strategies aligned with the Community Health Assessment (CHA) and Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP), provides technical assistance and training to healthcare and community partners, supports implementation of the Department's Language Access Plan, and, in partnership with the Communications Department, strengthens the clarity, accessibility, and cultural and linguistic responsiveness of health communications. The Health Educator - Health Literacy Specialist advances health literacy across Salt Lake County by helping residents, community organizations, healthcare systems, and Health Department programs access, understand, navigate, and use health information and services.
