Recruitment Number 26-086JC, Accountant IV, SR-22, Honolulu, OahuAccountant IV – responsible for professional accounting work, fiscal data analysis, system development within an accounting function, providing advisory services, and performing additional duties as required.Responsibilities• Execute complex professional accounting tasks.• Analyze fiscal data and maintain or develop accounting systems.• Provide advisory services related to accounting and finance.• Perform additional duties as directed.Minimum Qualification RequirementsEducation Requirement : Bachelor's degree from an accredited four‑year college or university with a minimum of twelve semester hours in accounting and/or auditing.Accounting Experience : Two and a half (2‑½) years of professional accounting or auditing experience, which may include teaching accounting at the university level.Non‑Qualifying Experience : Experience as a bookkeeper, accounting clerk, machine operator, office manager, or business owner supervising accountants does not qualify unless it involved direct accounting or auditing work with technical responsibility. Taxation roles that do not apply general accounting or auditing principles also do not qualify.Substitutions AllowedExperience for Education : Professional accounting or auditing experience may substitute for education on a year‑for‑year basis. Professional, analytical, or administrative experience that did not require accounting principles may also substitute if the applicant can demonstrate completion of at least twelve semester credit hours in accounting and/or auditing.Relevant accounting experience includes maintaining or reconciling general journals and ledgers, preparing financial statements, examining accounts, and preparing corrective entries.
