Be a part of something special!Position OverviewHalvik is seeking a candidate who will be responsible the performance, integrity and security of a Federal customer's database management systems. The candidate will also be involved in the planning and development and maintenance of databases, as well as troubleshooting any issues on behalf of the users.Core ResponsibilitiesModel logical and physical data for database management systemsImprove database performance through indexing and denormalizationDevelop data warehouses and marts for specialized data needsEnforce data naming standards and manage database logsPerform database backup, archive and restoration servicesMinimum RequirementsEducation: BA/BS degree (or equivalent).Experience: Minimum 5 or more years of related database administration experience.Technical Proficiency: Ability to install, configure, upgrade, and maintain database software and applications.Familiarity and/or hands-on experience with Oracle RDBMS and Microsoft SQL-Server RDBMS software, tools and patchesAbility to add, create, update, modify and delete database users, as well as create and maintain standard user profiles for adding new users and create and maintain groups (profile of the group, members of the group) and profiles of the privileges possessed by those groupsExperience managing database security by assigning the authorized access privileges to users in accordance with established proceduresAbility to monitor and maintain all the customer databases, including such items as disk space consumed and use of memory, as well as database backup and recovery/restorationCertifications: While not mandatory, possession will have more weight in consideration.Must possess an active Secret clearance.
