    Job Description

    Job Summary

    This position provides comprehensive administrative and clinical support to medical staff, primarily acting as a scribe during patient encounters and assisting with departmental operations to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Accompanies Physician into the patient examination room in order to transcribe a history and physical exam, and document accurately the Physician's encounter with the patient and others present.

    • Lists all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as follow up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the Physician.

    • Transcribes patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc.

    • Documents any procedures performed by the Physician.



    Required Qualifications

    • High School diploma or GED

    • 1 year plus related work experience

    • Experience with Medical Terminology. Recognition of physical exam process and ability to record exam details.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree

    Experience with computer systems required, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access. EPIC experience 

    Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
