Intern - Finance & Strategies

Hilltop Securities Inc. is currently looking for qualified students to join our Fixed Income Capital Markets team as a Summer Intern. This individual will work closely with our Fixed Income to gain hands-on experience in the profession while assisting with several key initiatives across the company. They will develop entry-level experience in the financial services industry, including development and delivery of initiatives, and effective practices. Professional Development Objectives: Experience on a full service trading desk this individual will learn about products traded including corporate bonds, CD''s, agencies, treasuries. Our Summer 2027 Internship Program is an in-person experience lasting from May 24, 2027 to July 30, 2027, with opportunities located in downtown Dallas at our HTS Tower location and throughout the country at various branch locations.

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Rising Senior pursuing business, finance, economics, or related field is required, computer science a plus
• Some experience (0 - 1 year) is preferred but not required
• Computer hardware, operating system (Windows), and strong software/application (MS Office, Outlook, Excel, etc.) knowledge and skills
• Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills
• Must possess a strong attention to detail
• Proven self-starter who can initiate tasks and follow up to completion
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills
• Desire to learn about career opportunities in the financial services industry
• Candidate MUST have authorization to work for any employer in the US without requiring sponsorship, whether in student status or not
• Experience on a full-service sales and trading desk - this individual will learn about products traded including treasury, agency, corporate, municipal, and mortgage-backed bonds. This person will also work on the taxable fixed income trading desk with Traders and Assistants on various projects using Bloomberg, Excel, and firm platforms.

• Work directly with the Strategies team to support sales and trading
• Assist with the development of fixed income analytical tools and reporting.
• Learn and assist in the streamlining of daily tasks and processes.
• Experience on a full-service sales and trading desk - this individual will learn about products traded including treasury, agency, corporate, municipal, and mortgage-backed bonds.
