The Payroll & Administrative Coordinator administers defined operational programs and activities across areas that may include finance, facilities, payroll, space planning, student services, human resources, communications, information technology, and safety. The position analyzes financial and operational data, develops and maintains budgets, evaluates services, researches complex issues, supports supervisors and managers on human resources and compensation-related matters, and helps ensure compliance with applicable requirements and internal policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Administers defined operational programs or activities, which may include finance, facilities, payroll, space planning, student services, human resources, communications, information technology, or safety.
Gathers and analyzes financial and other resource data and prepares reports and analyses of operational activities.
Evaluates current and proposed services and develops recommendations based on findings.
Serves as a resource for complex financial discrepancies, escalated customer service issues, and vendor concerns.
Develops and maintains budgets.
Participates in the development and revision of standard operating procedures and guidelines.
Provides guidance to supervisors and managers on developing job descriptions, facilitating benefits communications, and interpreting compensation programs, personnel policies, and procedures.
Conducts trend analyses and assists with developing recommendations based on identified trends.
Assesses and recommends changes needed to maintain compliance with federal and state requirements and internal policies.
Maintains the flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
Required Qualifications:
1+ years of related experience.
Experience supporting payroll, timekeeping, administrative operations, or a related function.
Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.
Solid communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff verbally and in writing.
Solid organizational skills and ability to multitask with demanding timeframes.
Working knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs.
Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with UKG timekeeping/payroll systems.
Experience working with employee cost centers or labor allocations.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience in a healthcare, clinical, or other high-volume operational environment.
