This role goes beyond execution—you will operate as a trusted talent advisor, shaping hiring strategies, influencing decision‑making, and delivering high‑quality talent outcomes in a competitive technical market.You will own complex, high‑impact searches and partner directly with senior leaders to define hiring needs, assess market realities, and drive outcomes.This role is a hybrid position requiring four days a week in our Chicago office.Talent Advisor & StrategyServe as a strategic partner to hiring managers and business leaders—shaping role scope, hiring plans, and candidate profilesLead structured intake conversations to define success criteria and align stakeholders upfrontProvide market intelligence on talent availability, compensation, and competitive landscape to guide decision‑makingProactively challenge assumptions and influence hiring outcomes as a credible advisorFull-Cycle Technical RecruitingOwn end‑to‑end recruiting for technical roles (software engineering, data, infrastructure, product)Build and execute sourcing strategies for hard‑to‑fill roles, including passive talent engagementScreen and assess candidates with a focus on both technical capability and long‑term fitDrive efficient, high‑quality interview processes and facilitate calibrated decision‑makingLead offer strategy development, negotiation, and closingPipeline & Sourcing ExcellenceBuild diverse, high‑quality pipelines using multi‑channel sourcing strategies (direct sourcing, referrals, partnerships, communities)Continuously refine sourcing strategies based on performance data and market insightsDevelop talent pipelines ahead of demand for critical skill areasCandidate Experience & Employer BrandDeliver a high‑touch, transparent candidate experience that reflects Morningstar's valuesAct as a candidate coach—guiding individuals through the process and advocating for strong talentPromote Morningstar as an employer of choice through networks, events, and outreachProcess & Continuous ImprovementDrive process improvements to increase efficiency, quality, and candidate experienceMaintain accurate dataWhat We're Looking For5+ years of recruiting experience, with strong technical recruiting expertiseProven success hiring for engineering, data, or product roles in a competitive marketExperience operating as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholdersStrong sourcing capability, including passive candidate engagementDeep understanding of technical roles, skillsets, and hiring challengesExcellent stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple complex searches simultaneouslyExperience using ATS platforms (Workday preferred)Data‑driven mindset with strong attention to detail and process rigorThis role does not qualify for immigration sponsorship.
