Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Orthopedic - $1,948 per week in Winston Salem, NC

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Orthopedics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of orthopedic experience required. License: Active nursing license required. Certifications: BLS, NIHSS preferred; ACLS preferred. Description: Cross posting after booking is not allowed and will not be worked out on-site. Any call-offs or additional time off could possibly lead to a cancelation. MUST HAVE ORTHOPEDIC WORK EXPERIENCE. Traveler experience is accepted. Unit will accept first-time travelers with previous electronic health record experience. Local candidates are accepted. Skill requirements include IV start and telemetry. Charge nurse experience and trauma level experience are preferred. The expected patient ratio on the unit is 5-6:1 but can flex up to 7:1 in extreme cases. Unit will accept assignments of 13 weeks or longer. Flexible scheduling will be offered, including block scheduling options. Every other weekend coverage is required. If a nurse calls out on a weekend, they must make up that time on a weekend. The patient population includes orthopedic, neuro spine, med-surg, and post-surgical patients. Patients on the unit may require nurses who can effectively manage pain. Candidates must be willing to float to other medical-surgical units to meet staffing needs. All applicants must be compliant with required testing within 48 hours of signing. This is a fast-paced unit requiring excellent patient management skills. Nurses must be customer service-oriented to meet the needs of a high post-surgery patient population.
