Job Details Responsibilities: As a Permanent Accountant, your key responsibilities will include: 1. Managing the preparation and distribution of internal financial statements and reports, maintaining the highest quality, reliability, and accuracy. 2. Managing monthly closing processes, conducting research, and making correction journal entries for account discrepancies, prepare closing journal entries, posts accrual entries, and prepares financial statements. 3. Coordinating and resolving various issues with the billing department such as billing discrepancies and errors. 4. Preparing, recording, verifying, analyzing, and reporting accounts receivable and revenue transactions. 5. Reconciling balance sheet and income statement accounts to general ledger; researches and resolves un-reconciled items. 6. Assisting with the development of budgets and financial forecasts, compiling and presenting reports, budgets, business plans, and financial statements. 7. Adhering to the established internal controls and compliance requirements for both internal and external auditors. 8. Driving process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the function. Qualifications: The ideal candidate for the Permanent Accountant role should possess the following qualifications: 1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 2. A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in an accounting role, with a strong emphasis on billing. 3. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is highly desirable. 4. Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and other financial management software. 5. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and government regulations. 6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity. 7. Ability to execute and follow-through to completion and documentation. 8. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail. 9. Superior verbal and written communication skills. 10. Ability to work independently, but also as part of a team. Inventory Accountant Department: Accounting/Finance Reports To: Controller FLSA Status: Exempt  Join the winning team at Plaza Tire Service!  In business since 1963, with 94 store locations.  We are a growing business and a leader in our industry.  We are seeking a full-time Inventory Accountant at our Corporate Office in Cape Girardeau, MO.  This is a salary position reporting directly to our Regional Controller.  You will work directly with the existing accounting team, as well as, members of our executive management team. This position requires great attention to detail, excellent understanding of GAAP accounting principles, and a friendly and professional personality.   Responsibilities <ul><li>Maintain and reconcile inventory accounts in the general ledger</li><li>Monitor inventory transactions, including purchases, transfers, and adjustments</li><li>Perform regular inventory audits and cycle counts; investigate and resolve discrepancies</li><li>Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end inventory reports and journal entries</li><li>Collaborate with warehouse and operations teams to improve inventory controls and processes</li><li>Perform variance analysis on income and expense accounts for reasonableness.</li><li>Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, reports, and required documentation.</li><li>Maintain and strengthen internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting policies.</li><li>Assist in financial data collection, including gathering, organizing, and validating information from various sources (e.g. accounting systems, departments, vendors) to support financial reporting.</li><li>Drive automation and efficiency in reporting and close cycles; support ERP enhancements and system implementations.</li><li>Other ad-hoc reporting or accounting related duties that may be assigned.</li></ul>  Qualifications and Skills <ul><li>Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.</li><li>2-5+ years of accounting experience desired.</li><li>Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and corporate accounting standards.</li><li>Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
