Work Safely and Maintain Equipment•Follow all Goodfellow safety requirements, approved welding procedures, hot-work practices, and equipment operating instructions.•Wear required personal protective equipment, including welding hood, gloves, safety footwear, eye and hearing protection, and other task-specific protection.•Inspect welding machines, leads, torches, regulators, ventilation, tools, and work areas before use and report unsafe conditions promptly.•Monitor equipment settings, operation, and temperature and make authorized adjustments appropriate to the material and process.•Maintain clean, orderly work areas and safely store welding consumables, compressed-gas cylinders, tools, and materials. ResponsibilitiesPerform Welding and Fabrication•Read and interpret dimensional drawings, blueprints, work orders, weld symbols, and specifications to plan fabrication work.•Fit, tack, weld, and assemble metal components and structures using MIG and TIG welding processes as required.•Produce welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions while maintaining proper penetration, profile, and appearance.•Measure, mark, position, clamp, and align components to specified dimensions, tolerances, and configurations before welding.•Use grinders, saws, torches, fixtures, material-handling equipment, and other fabrication tools safely and correctly.
