The Community Assistant Dean will administer the medical student education program, manage the community campus team, assure compliance with accreditation requirements, advise students in career and professional development, recruit and support community faculty, work toward advancing inclusion and diversity and responding to the needs of the underserved, and develop community resources to support the undergraduate medical program. The college was one of the first community based medical schools in the nation and conducts its clinical training for third and fourth-year students throughout the state in eight communities - Lansing, Flint, Grand Rapids, Midland, Detroit, Southeast Michigan, Traverse City, and the Upper Peninsula - fulfilling its mission of serving the people of Michigan.
