As the Accounting/Payroll Manager, you will oversee daily accounting operations, with primary responsibility for processing biweekly payroll and month-end/quarter-end close activities. This role ensures accurate records, strong internal controls, and timely reporting, as well as supervising transactional accounting staff under the direction of the CFO. *Hybrid role based in Champaign, IL, involving a mix of on-site and remote work. Job duties include:<ul><li>Payroll processing (Primary Responsibility)</li><li>Monthly, quarterly, and year-end close</li><li>Supervise and support AP, AR, and Purchasing staff</li><li>Internal controls, compliance, and documentation</li><li>Collaboration and reporting</li><li>Leadership functions and other duties as assigned, in support of the Finance team</li></ul>Requirements:<ul><li>3-5 years of progressive accounting experience</li><li>Hands-on experience processing payroll, payroll systems, and Excel</li><li>Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, payroll accounting and accruals, and balance sheet reconciliation</li><li>Experience with month-end/quarter-end close ownership</li><li>Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred or equivalent experience required</li><li>Experience supervising or leading accounting staff preferred</li><li>Familiarity with ERP systems preferred</li><li>Valid, unexpired driver's license preferred</li><li>Hybrid role based in Champaign, IL, involving a mix of on-site and remote work. </li></ul>EOE

Description Eastern Illinois University, School of Business invites applicants for a full-time, 9-month tenure- track faculty position in accounting at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will be qualified to teach undergraduate and graduate courses including auditing and a secondary area such as data analytics and emerging technologies. In addition to teaching, in F2F, online and hybrid formats, the candidate will be expected to conduct research and publish in peer-reviewed journals and participate in service activities at the school and university levels. The position begins in fall 2025. Candidates with PhD or DBA from an AACSB-accredited accounting program are preferred, although ABDs close to completion will be considered. Established or potential record for research in peer-reviewed journals and evidence of strong instructional effectiveness are essential, as are strong communications and interpersonal skills. Experience with teaching online, business experience, and professional certification are desirable. Demonstrated commitment to diversity and experience with promoting inclusive excellence is required.
