Hospital Outpatient Coder I is responsible for accurately assigning ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes, CPT/HCPCS procedure codes, and applicable modifiers for outpatient hospital encounter types including but not limited to Clinic Records, Diagnostic Services and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) in accordance with official coding guidelines, payer policies, and facility-specific requirements. When determining base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered including, but not limited to location, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget, market data, and internal equity.
