About the Role:

- Empower the victim to advocate for the needs of self and children.
Ability to work quickly, accurately, and thoroughly with close attention to detail to meet deadlines; to work independently, prioritizing and organizing work with a minimum of supervision; to establish and maintain filing and record keeping systems; to make accurate mathematical calculations, and ability to collaborate with law enforcement agencies, social service agencies, and Prosecutors' offices in the community. Ability to work in an office environment; requires the ability to exert a small amount of physical effort in sedentary to light work involving moving from one area to another; may require some moderate lifting, bending, reaching, kneeling and some climbing of stairs; sufficient hand/eye coordination to perform semi-skilled repetitive movements such as operating office equipment; may have slight exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous material.

The Victim Advocate/Case Manager works as part of the victim advocacy team to provide direct victim advocacy and case management to child victims of abuse and their non-offending family members. Act as an advocate for victims to ensure their needs are addressed within the community and criminal justice system; conferring with law enforcement officials and prosecutors on the status of cases .
The Victim Advocate assists participants in addressing their immediate crisis, accessing referrals and services, problem solving, setting, and working towards both short-term and long-term goals, including the acquisition of housing, childcare, legal services, education, and employment. Community Resource Center is widely recognized as the primary provider of social services and domestic violence programs in coastal North County San Diego, serving more than 7,200 people each year.
