GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES Within the approved limits of authority and in compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, and policies of the Elizabeth Board of Education and the New Jersey Administrative Code, the teacher is responsible for the effective performance of the following duties and responsibilities: • Instruction • Guidance • Evaluation • Competency within assigned position • Planning and preparation • Classroom control • Record Keeping • Curriculum development • Professional growth. BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION To assist students to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological growth, and to provide them with the knowledge and skills essential for full participation as responsible citizens.
