This position reports to the Office Manager, as well as to assigned attorneys, and is responsible for, among other activities, (i) providing the requisite legal secretarial and administrative support/clerical needs of assigned attorneys; (ii) preparing letters, memos, and other documentation, as required; (iii) entering client information into the system to run conflict checks for new clients, as well as preparation of supporting documentation such as engagement letters; (iv) preparing and filing pleadings with the appropriate court system and docketing dates into a central docketing system, as needed; (v) making travel arrangements and preparing expense reimbursement documentation; (vi) answering the phones of assigned attorneys; and (vii) entering attorney time. As a Legal Administrative Assistant, candidates must be able to (i) assist attorneys in drafting and finalizing transaction documents and closing binders; (ii) liaise with clients, lenders, title companies and other parties involved to ensure timely closings; (iii) maintain organized and accessible transactional files for future reference.
