The incumbent is responsible for the identification, investigation, analysis, and evaluation of the medical, legal, and fiscal issues related to covered claims, potential and asserted, against protected participants of UF SIP; the management and resolution, including denial, settlement, or defense, of all covered claims; the coordination, management and execution of all presuit legal and administrative processes required by Florida Statute; the coordination and management of litigation processes in defense of lawsuits filed based on covered claims; the identification of risk factors which cause or contribute to claims and suits. This position is also part of the workforce for the distinct component entities serving the governing councils of the University of Florida J Hillis Miller Health Center Self-Insurance Program (UF SIP), Florida State University Self-Insurance Program (FSU SIP), University of Central Florida Self-Insurance Program (UCF SIP), Florida Atlantic University Self-Insurance Program (FAU SIP), Florida International University Self-Insurance Program (FIU SIP), and the Florida Board of Governors (collectively SIPs).
