It is also the role of the Vehicle Operator to: guarantee that the bus is clean and in proper working condition at all times; determine and follow safe and efficient bus routes; ensure all individuals are properly secured (including proper securement of wheelchairs); maintain all transportation records required by the program; and properly respond in case of emergency. PRIMARY FUNCTION: Under the general supervision of the assigned Direct Support Professional Supervisor,the Vehicle Operator has the primary responsibility for ensuring the health, safety and welfare of adults with developmental disabilities during bus transportation to and from the work, program sites, employment, and various activities within the community.
