Acts as liaison for Mechanical Department in handling various matters with Human Resources, Safety, Labor Relations, Operations Control, Claims, Risk Management, Fixed Assets, Medical Services, Finance, Information Services, etc., to ensure necessary resources are in place for optimization of production, budget, quality, safety, morale and employee development. Manages staff for all Rail Mechanical Departments for proper monitoring of department vacancies in coordination with long-term employees to ensure positions are filled within budget/headcount, including craft specific classes being scheduled and offers of positions to qualified candidates.
