Demonstrates the cognitive and technical skills required to acquire a 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG), including: • Appropriate preparation of skin surfaces • Correct placement of electrodes and leads • Accurate patient identification and verification • Electronic download of the ECG order to the cardiograph waveform acquisition and storage • Electronic upload of the ECG to the enterprise ECG management system.
Demonstrates proficiency in the configuration, communication, clinical use, and trouble-shooting of FDA-approved medical devices, including cardiographs, Holter monitors, cardiac event monitors, and other heart rhythm remote monitoring equipment.
