Common skills and procedures include wound care, chest tubes, trach care, PEG/NGT care, ostomy/colostomy care, IV starts, blood draws from central lines, surgical site care, C-collars, abdominal binders, restraints, suctioning, O2 therapy, foley care, external catheter care, central line/CVL dressing changes, pressure ulcer prevention and management, PCA pumps, negative pressure dressings, hemovacs/JP drains, wound vacs, and nurse-driven foley protocol. - Patient populations include general and vascular surgery; CVA, TBI, seizure, AMS, spinal fusion, craniotomy, degenerative diseases, post-trauma, and angiogram patients; MedSurg/oncology and palliative care patients; general MedSurg diagnoses including COPD, CHF, diabetes, MRSA, VRE, C-Diff, COVID, pneumonia, renal failure, sepsis, UTI, and end-of-life comfort; orthopedic and spine patients; and urology and ENT patients.
