This evaluation is designed to measure knowledge, skills and/or abilities in job related areas which may include but not be limited to: Knowledge of treatment tools for medically and mentally ill acute and sub‐acute patients, of the principles of patient care duties, of basic medical terminology; Oral communication ability; Written communication ability; Ability to observe and identify changes in patient's condition, to assist patients in and out of bed, into bath, and in and out of wheel chair, to interact effectively with patients, family members, and clinical staff. Under direct supervision of a licensed nurse, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) performs a variety of routine duties involving care of medically or mentally ill acute or sub-acute patients; performs direct patient care; observes and reports changes in the behavior and physical status of patients; provides a clean and safe environment; and performs related duties.
