Overview:
PURPOSE STATEMENT:Responsible for the daily operation of department(s) that prepare and serve food and beverages.  Provide operational direction and information needed to determine policies related to nutritional care for person(s) receiving services.

Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:<ul><li>Provide staff management including hiring, development, training, performance management and communication to ensure effective and efficient department operation.</li><li>Provide orientation, training and evaluation of staff per facility policies and standards.</li><li>Understand policies and their impact on the daily operation of the department.</li><li>Ensure menus served are nutritionally adequate and well received.</li><li>Identify and report to the dietitian any problems in the implementation of the care plan/special diet orders.</li><li>Responsible for or may assist dietitian with establishing or revising dietary policies and menu.</li><li>Determine budget requirements for the department and review/approve expenditures.</li><li>Establish policies and procedures for the department.</li><li>Observe and analyze work processes to improve efficiency of operations.</li><li>Check quality and quantity of supplies received and following up on any discrepancies.</li><li>Check incoming food and supplies for quality, correct amount, correct price and direct the storage of received goods or equipment.</li><li>Responsible for documentation and cost management.</li><li>Supervise the use of standardized recipes for food preparation.</li><li>Plan and assist in prep of special meals for events.</li><li>Direct and assist with departmental cleaning not performed by housekeeping.</li><li>Provide direction and supervision to managers or supervisors who are assigned responsibility for assisting in providing food service support for the facility.</li></ul>OTHER FUNCTIONS: <ul><li>Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.</li></ul>

Qualifications:

The Live Poultry Production Manager directly impacts the success of the entire supply chain-from farm to processing.

Job Description Summary: We are seeking a Production Manager who will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of live poultry production within our Oklahoma Complex, including grow-out operations, animal welfare, biosecurity, and field staff management. This role ensures birds are raised efficiently, ethically, and in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements, while meeting production, quality, and cost objectives. Job Description: Key Responsibilities: <ul><li>Oversee daily live production operations, including broiler/breeder performance, placement, and harvest schedules </li><li>Monitor flock health, growth rates, feed conversion, and mortality trends; implement corrective actions as needed </li><li>Collaborate with hatchery, feed mill, and processing teams to ensure alignment across the production cycle </li><li>Build and maintain strong relationships with contract growers </li><li>Provide technical guidance and training to growers on best practices in poultry husbandry </li><li>Evaluate grower performance and address performance gaps </li><li>Lead, coach, and develop a team of field technicians and supervisors </li><li>Set clear performance expectations and conduct regular evaluations </li><li>Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement </li><li>Analyze production data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement </li><li>Manage budgets related to live production operations, including cost control initiatives </li><li>Drive process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste </li><li>Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to poultry production </li><li>Promote and enforce workplace safety standards across all operations </li><li>Ensure strict adherence to animal welfare standards and biosecurity protocols </li><li>Conduct routine farm visits and audits to verify compliance with company policies and industry regulations </li><li>Partner with veterinary teams to manage flock health programs, vaccinations, and disease prevention </li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Poultry Science, Animal Science, Agriculture, or related field (or equivalent experience) </li><li>5-10 years of experience in poultry production or live operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role </li><li>Strong knowledge of poultry production systems, animal health, and welfare practices </li><li>Proven leadership and team management skills </li><li>Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities </li><li>Strong communication and relationship-building skills </li><li>Ability to analyze data and translate insights into action </li><li>Proficiency in production management systems and Microsoft Office </li><li>Frequent travel to farms and production sites </li><li>Exposure to agricultural environments, including dust, odors, and varying weather conditions </li><li>Availability to respond to urgent production issues outside standard working hours </li></ul>Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)<ul><li>Feed conversion ratio (FCR) </li><li>Mortality rates </li><li>Average daily gain (ADG) </li><li>Animal welfare audit scores </li><li>Grower performance metrics </li><li>Cost per pound of live production </li></ul> This role is critical to ensuring a consistent, high-quality supply of poultry while upholding the highest standards of animal welfare, operational efficiency, and food safety.
