<strong>Overview</strong> <br/> H. L’s Menagerie, LLC is currently seeking knowledgeable, enthusiastic and passion for birds, reptiles and exotic animals. This position is for Full Time Position as Zoo Curator.<br/><br/><br/>Primary responsibility will be to care for and maintain animals, exhibits, grounds, and facilities; supervises staffs as assigned. To perform daily keeper activities to include feeding animals, behavioral observance, record keeping, cleaning enclosures, etc. <br/><br/><br/>You will be working in proximity with birds, exotic animals, reptiles, kangaroos, primates, etc. Looking for long term committed individual who is seeking a career in caring animals.<br/><br/><br/>Job Responsibilities:<br/><br/><br/><ul><li>Oversee the daily care, health, and welfare of all animals, ensuring proper nutrition, enrichment, and habitat conditions </li><li> Develop and implement species-specific husbandry and enrichment programs, and monitor animal behavior to support overall well-being </li><li> Coordinate closely with veterinary staff on preventative care, medical treatments, and emergency situations </li><li> Ensure full compliance with all applicable regulations, including those set by the <strong>United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)</strong> under the Animal Welfare Act </li><li> Prepare for and manage USDA inspections, audits, and maintain accurate, up-to-date, audit-ready documentation </li><li> Ensure adherence to industry standards, including <strong>Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA)</strong> guidelines where applicable </li><li> Manage the animal collection, including planning acquisitions, transfers, and breeding programs to support conservation and genetic diversity </li><li> Maintain accurate records of animal inventory, medical history, diet, breeding, and transfers </li><li> Supervise, train, and evaluate animal care staff, ensuring compliance with safety, operational procedures, and performance standards </li><li> Develop staff schedules and support efficient daily operations while fostering a professional and collaborative work environment </li><li> Collaborate with internal teams on exhibit design, construction, and maintenance to ensure habitats meet animal welfare, safety, and species-specific needs </li><li> Support conservation initiatives, research programs, and partnerships, and contribute to educational programs and public engagement efforts </li><li> Manage administrative functions, including preparing reports, maintaining records, coordinating departmental workflows, and ensuring effective communication across teams </li><li> Oversee budgets related to animal care, track expenses, and manage procurement of feed, equipment, and supplies </li><li> Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure all documentation is organized and compliant </li></ul><br/><br/>

This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in hands-on work, has a strong attention to detail, and understands the importance of safely handling high-value artwork and artifacts.<br/></div><p>You’ll play a key role in transporting, installing, and preserving artwork—helping ensure every piece is handled with precision and care.<br/></p><div><hr/><br/></div><h3>What You’ll Do<br/></h3><ul><li>Safely pack, transport, and unpack artwork and artifacts<br/></li><li>Complete local and regional deliveries (including driving responsibilities)<br/></li><li>Assist with installation and deinstallation of exhibitions<br/></li><li>Prepare and maintain accurate condition reports and inventory records<br/></li><li>Collaborate with curators and team members to ensure proper display and handling<br/></li><li>Conduct routine checks of storage and display areas to maintain optimal conditions<br/></li><li>Follow best practices for art handling, storage, and transportation<br/></li></ul><div><hr/><br/></div><h3>What We’re Looking For<br/></h3><p><b>Required:</b><br/></p><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent<br/></li><li><div>2+ years of experience in: <br/></div><ul><li>Art handling, museum, or gallery environments<br/></li><li>OR relevant experience in moving/handling high-value or fragile items<br/></li></ul></li><li>Experience with safe packing, handling, and transportation techniques<br/></li><li>Strong attention to detail and organizational skills<br/></li><li>Ability to work both independently and as part of a team<br/></li></ul><p><b>Preferred:</b><br/></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Art History, or a related field<br/></li><li>Knowledge of art conservation techniques and materials<br/></li><li>Experience working with a variety of art forms and mediums<br/></li></ul><div><hr/><br/></div><h3>Key Skills<br/></h3><ul><li>Detail-oriented with strong documentation and reporting accuracy<br/></li><li>Physically capable of safely handling and moving artwork<br/></li><li>Strong communication and teamwork skills<br/></li><li>Ability to problem-solve and adapt in a fast-paced, hands-on environment<br/></li><li>Appreciation for fine art and proper handling techniques<br/></li></ul><div><hr/><br/></div><h3>Why This Role<br/></h3><p>This is a unique opportunity to work closely with valuable and meaningful collections while building hands-on experience in art logistics, installation, and preservation.
