Applications from contemporary areas of research are welcome, including cyber-physical systems, edge computing, computer architecture and high-performance computing, quantum computing, VLSI design, signal processing, hardware-software co-design, cloud and distributed systems, hardware security, machine learning hardware, and bio-inspired computing. In addition, preference will be given to applicants whose expertise will expand the education and research opportunities the program currently offers for students and be complementary to the areas of specialization of existing faculty in the department and college.
