Required Documents: In addition to the degree requirement, applicants must submit the following documents letter of application, unofficial transcripts, Curriculum Vitae, teaching method and mentoring statement (maximum two pages), including commitment to working with students from diverse backgrounds, such as racial and ethnic minorities, women, individuals who identify as LGBTQ+, individuals with disabilities, individuals from lower-income backgrounds, and/or first-generation or otherwise underserved college students, research statement (2 pages), writing sample (article or dissertation chapter), two relevant sample syllabi, record of excellent college-level teaching, both face-to-face and, if applicable, online format, and three referees (the committee will contact references of selected candidates). Additionally, the successful candidate will pursue a vigorous research program, mentor graduate and undergraduate students, and provide service to the program, school, college, university, and the professional community, nationally or internationally, in accordance with the School of History and Philosophy Operating Papers.
