Accurately take vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respirations, weight, and fetal heart tones • Accurately determine appropriate immunizations and administer the immunizations safely • Administer IM and subcutaneous injections and give oral meds if ordered • Assists providers with procedures including (but not limited to) colposcopy, cryo surgery, and pessary • Performs procedures as ordered including (but not limited to) removing sutures, applying steri-strips, and packing a wound • Obtain, prepare, and follow lab specimens including (but not limited to) specimen collection for urine, blood, culture and pregnancy. • Complete controls and logs for urine dip sticks, nitrazine, pregnancy tests • Ability to check and calibrate glucometer • Patient preparation, observation and recording history • Document refrigerator temperatures • Obtain informed consents • Provides patient education using videos and brochures • Ability to schedule consults, tests and referrals • Accurately determine payment systems for patients and schedule with appropriate managed care or insurance providers • Interpersonal and basic clerical skills and ability to follow instructions.
