<div><div><div><div><div><p>As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be designing, building, and</p><p>testing prototypes for many types of liquid cooling systems.</p><p>Mikros Technologies liquid cooling systems are deployed servers in large AI data centers and help to increase the energy efficiency of these sites. We also make active liquid cooling systems that are utilized in semiconductor test equipment for providing fast thermal control to maintain a constant temperature under a varying heat load.</p><ul><li><b>This is an onsite role in Claremont, NH.</b></li><li><b>Relocation assistance available.</b></li><li><b>Competitive salary with bonus opportunities.</b></li></ul><p><b>What will you do?</b></p><ul><li>Ability to provide design and engineering drawing services as required to support our manufacturing processes and integration of our products into the end user’s equipment.</li><li>Design and analysis of cooling systems such as cold plates, manifolds, and fluidic couplings.</li><li>Analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility and cost of designs or applications.</li><li>Research, design, validate, and analyze machined parts and other components of structural and mechanical systems and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles.</li><li>Compute and estimate loadings on structural members.</li><li>Provide technical input to identify and mitigate project risks that may impact project plans and schedules</li><li>CAD model development, and design data package development completing finite element analysis techniques for stress and structural dynamics using ProE CREO, SolidWorks or other CAD software</li><li>Review CAD/Technical Data Packages to determine and validate mechanical design requirements for components and their functions within a system environment</li><li>Evaluate/optimize manufacturing assembly processes by designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment, conferring with equipment vendors, and soliciting observations from the production team</li><li>Adept at creating detailed mechanical design of components, sub-assemblies, and system integration</li><li>Capable of creating a Bill of Materials (BOM) for release to manufacturing</li><li>Conduct root cause investigation to troubleshoot complex mechanical design and material issues that arise through testing and engineering development</li><li>Draft and contribute to test plans and specifications</li><li>Perform tests, debug, and validation of mechanical systems and support manufacturing processes</li><li>Manage relationships with mechanical component vendors and contract manufacturers</li><li>Keep updated with the latest technologies and methods to ensure competitive and cost-effective designs</li><li>Work with your manager to propose potential R&D project ideas to enhance competency areas</li><li>Discuss with management and production staff to assess engineering feasibility and cost-effectiveness</li><li>May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned</li></ul><p><b>How will you get here? </b></p><p><b>Education: </b></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree in engineering or higher is preferred</li></ul><p><b>Experience: </b></p><ul><li>5 years of design engineering experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education</li><li>Thermal design and analysis</li><li>Design for manufacturing and GD&T experience</li><li>Mechanical (statics) and fluid analysis</li><li>Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) experience</li><li>Ability to design, build, and test prototypes. This role combines hands-on engineering, project leadership, and client engagement, making it well suited for a professional looking to take the next step in their career within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.<br/><br/><strong>This position may sit fully remote with travel as needed to job sites within the Northeast.</strong><br/><br/></div><br/><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><br/><ul><li>Lead mechanical design and serve as project manager for building systems projects, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.</li><li>Develop and review construction documents, technical specifications, and cost estimates.</li><li>Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements (e.g., ASHRAE, local building codes).</li><li>Manage project scope, schedule, and budgets for assigned projects.</li><li>Serve as the primary point of contact for select projects, building and maintaining strong client relationships.</li><li>Coordinate and manage multi-disciplinary design teams, including internal civil, structural, and electrical staff.</li><li>Oversee construction administration activities, including submittal review, responses to RFIs, and site visits.</li><li>Lead and participate in internal and external project meetings, maintaining clear communication with clients, consultants, and contractors.</li><li>Support proposal development, level-of-effort estimating, and project planning.</li><li>Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical development within the mechanical team.</li></ul><br/><h3>Skills, Knowledge and Expertise</h3><br/><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.</li><li>10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering design for building systems (HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection).</li><li>Professional Engineer (PE) license required.</li><li>Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for MEP design.</li><li>Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing systems, fire protection, and applicable building codes and ASHRAE standards.</li><li>Experience managing projects through design and construction phases.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and project teams.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.</li><li>Familiarity with BIM coordination tools preferred.</li><li><strong>Ability to travel to job sites in CT, MA, and RI.</strong></li></ul><div>This position may be open to a flexible, part-time arrangement of 20+ hours per week.
