Position Description Essential duties and responsibilities: <ul><li>Support permitting activities for Kinder Morgan assets.</li><li>Coordinate permitting activities, including regulatory reviews, environmental field surveys, agency communications, permit application submittals, agency negotiations, mitigation development and implementation.</li><li>Coordinate required permitting activities with project managers, engineers, contractors and other Kinder Morgan team members.</li><li>Manage and oversee consultants in the execution of permitting-related tasks.</li><li>Solicit bids, prepare work directive requests, track budgets, and manage consultant invoices.</li><li>Assist project managers in planning, budgeting and scheduling permitting components of their projects.</li><li>Provide environmental and regulatory technical guidance on permitting processes, identifying opportunities to minimize permitting-related costs, risks, and schedule delays to Kinder Morgan projects.</li><li>Support Management on various permitting initiatives.</li><li>Maintain current knowledge of applicable permitting laws, regulations, and requirements.</li><li>Ensure compliance and timeliness with all permitting activities.</li><li>Coordinate as necessary with Environmental, Health and Safety Dept.; attend Engineering Dept. Team meetings as well as regional field meetings; attend project site visits and bid walks as needed; provide backup support for other permitting staff when absent from the office; perform other related duties as assigned.</li><li>Consistently maintain and demonstrate a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets, employees, and the public.</li></ul> Position Requirements Education: <ul><li>Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences or related discipline. </li></ul>Experience / Specific Knowledge: <ul><li>A minimum of five years in the environmental permitting/consulting field.</li><li>Proven experience applying and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, including National Environmental Protection Act, Endangered Species Act, National Historical Preservation Act, Clean Water Act, the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and Federal Energy Regulation Commission (FERC) processes and permitting requirements.</li><li>Experience providing environmental permitting support in the U.S.</li></ul>Certification, licenses, and registrations: <ul><li>A satisfactory driving record as determined by the Company and current, valid State driver's license are required.</li><li>If the employee is subject to a license or certification requirement(s) or training as stipulated by local, state or federal agencies or the Company, now or in the future, compliance is required under this job description.</li></ul>Competency, skills, and abilities: <ul><li>Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, TEAMS, and Outlook.</li><li>Well-balanced interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written communications skills are required.</li><li>Must be accountable and take direction from Managers; keep required work schedules, which include regular and predictable job attendance; focus attention on details; follow work rules.</li><li>Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks are essential.</li><li>Must be a problem solver with the ability to find solutions.</li><li>Must be self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision and/or direction.</li><li>Must be flexible and able to work effectively in a team environment and consistently maintain a professional and respectful demeanor/attitude with co-workers, clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies.</li></ul>Physical demands: <ul><li>Employee must be physically capable of completing and satisfying all training requirements as stipulated by local, state or federal agencies and/or Company Policy.</li><li>Exposure to smells and fumes associated with refined petroleum products.</li><li>Work may be performed outside in varied and sometimes extreme weather situations. Terrain can be uneven and rugged.</li></ul>Working Conditions: <ul><li>This position has the opportunity to work a hybrid work schedule with Monday through Wednesday in the office and Thursday and Friday at home.</li><li>Extended work hours in cases of emergencies and field activities.</li><li>May be required to work alone (unsupervised).</li><li>Work in remote areas is often performed alone and without direct supervision; judgment is required when consultation with supervisor is not possible. Must schedule and monitor own work.</li><li>Occasional travel may be required throughout the United States to perform job duties.</li><li>Majority of the work will be conducted from an office environment. Extended periods of sitting may be required for administrative activities.</li></ul><ul><li>The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.</li></ul> Preferred Qualifications: Above the minimum requirement, not required but advantageous in this position: <ul><li>Experience with permitting Oil and Gas, petroleum products pipelines, facilities, and terminals.</li><li>Working knowledge of pipeline operations.</li></ul>The above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed. This position may perform other duties as assigned. Pay range: $85,100-$152,700 per year. This position may include a discretionary annual incentive plan. Requirements:
