Conducts initial assessment and maintain records pertaining to work injuries and illnesses. Collaborates with Human Resources to ensure completion of all employee health screenings, annual immunization updates, and workers compensation reporting of employee injuries and illnesses. Conducts environmental rounds in all inpatient and outpatient care areas. Analyzes trends and risk factors, and designs and evaluates prevention and control strategies. Participates in investigation and reporting of unusual hospital infection outbreaks. Conducts infection prevention rounds facility wide in alignment with IP goals and provides education to healthcare personnel; communicates findings and recommendations. Provides new hire orientation to associates regarding IPC and assists IP leadership in annual and additional education, as needed. Assists in the organization of regularly scheduled infection control-related meetings and dissemination of recommendations hospital-wide. Participates in quality/performance improvement activities by assessing, monitoring, and measuring nosocomial infections and evaluating outcomes on a continuous basis.
