Position Summary:
The Event Security position is responsible for ensuring the safety and security for all events. Special security assignments may be available during non-event days/nights. The security team is a provider of direct service to our guests and must always exhibit a professional and courteous demeanor. This role pays an hourly rate of $12.00-$14.00 Benefits for Part-Time roles: 401(k) Savings Plan and 401(k) matching EVERGREEN ROLE: Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis; there is no application deadline.

About the Venue:
The Macon Centreplex is comprised of the Macon Coliseum and Macon City Auditorium. The Macon Coliseum is home to tenant hockey team, the Macon Mayhem and sits 9,000 patrons. Family shows, concerts, trade shows, GHSA, among others, are frequent entertainment in the venue. The Macon City Auditorium first opened in 1925 and has hosted iconic greats like Otis Redding, The Allman Brothers, and Little Richard. The venue hosts concerts, weddings, private galas, comedy shows, among other events, in its 2,500 seat space. The 10,000 capacity Amphitheater opened in Spring of 2024 with concerts, comedy shows, graduations, and community events.

Responsibilities:
<ul style="margin-top:0in"><li>Respond to requests for assistance from  staff and visitors for a variety of security issues (fire, medical emergencies, etc.)</li><li>Performs all event and non-event security duties as assigned</li><li>Admits building staff, suppliers, contractors, visitors, and guests to the facility according to established security procedures.</li><li>Answers information requests from staff and guests during events or as needed.</li><li>Protects Arena equipment, materials, and structures throughout the work schedule.</li><li>Provides regular security functions within the Arena and related areas, prior to, during and after all events.</li><li>Receives, records, and returns all lost and found items according to established team procedures.</li><li>When requested, provide escorts of persons to and from locations within the facility</li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director of Events, Event Managers.</li></ul>

Qualifications:
<ul><li>Prior security experience preferred, but not required.</li><li>Able to work events as assigned.</li><li>High school diploma or equivalent required.</li><li>Strong oral and written communication skills in the English language required</li><li>Ability to work beyond traditional business hours, including nights, weekends and select holidays, is required</li><li>Must demonstrate strong attention to detail</li><li>Must have earned or can earn valid CPR certification</li><li>Must demonstrate a positive, professional, and customer-focused attitude</li></ul>

<ul><li>Secures the property including all buildings and doors that should be secured</li><li>Locks and unlocks facility doors</li><li>Conducts routine property walks.</li><li>Responds to emergency situations</li><li>Interacts with the public and all levels of management and fellow employees</li><li>Secures the safety of all individuals on the premises</li><li>Appropriately deals with "unruly" people</li><li>Works independently, and judges and assess situations foe immediate response</li></ul>

Qualifications:
<ul><li>High school diploma or G.E.D.</li><li>6 months to 1 year security experience, preferable in a similar environment</li><li>Valid driver's license required</li><li>Ability to work with minimal supervision</li><li>Strong customer service skills</li><li>Good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills required; ability to interact with all levels of staff including management</li><li>Ability to work irregular hours including night shifts, weekends, and holidays</li><li>Professional presentation, appearance and work ethic</li><li>Interact with emergency personnel; provide accurate descriptions and directions</li><li>Ability to utilize two-way radios, monitor phones and closed circuit security cameras</li></ul>
