I possess a combination of partial completion of the required university curriculum and either 1) Excess Specialized Experiencein a recreational therapy program which, along with other therapy programs, provided comprehensive treatment and rehabilitative services to persons with physical, mental, emotional and developmental disabilities, psychosocial disorders, substance abuse problems, and/or the elderly; and/or 2) Administrative, professional or analytical work experience that provided comparable knowledge, skills and abilities comparable to those acquired in four years of successful study in a college or university curriculum leading to a bachelors degree in recreation, physical education, special education, psychology, or sociology which included duties and responsibility in the area of recreation and therapy. At least one year of the Specialized Experience must have been comparable to the Recreational Therapist II.At the advanced trainee level, the Recreational Therapist II performs a variety of simple to moderately complex work assignments in recreational therapy; under close supervision, carries out approved therapeutic recreational treatment plans; conducts therapeutic recreational and leisure activities; observes, evaluates and reports on the condition and progress of patients, and performs other related duties as assigned.
