We are looking for a staff accountant to join our team for day-to-day accounting activities. The ideal candidate should enjoy working in an engaging environment where creative thinking, problem solving, analysis, efficiency, and initiative are required. Adaptability and positivity are key qualities to be successful in this role.Principal Duties and Responsibilities<ul><li>Engage in month-end close process and assist staff and management throughout close process.</li><li>Prepare general ledger entries in accordance with GAAP.</li><li>Prepare detailed account reconciliations by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system, external reports, and various corporate departments.</li><li>Documentation of business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls and standard operating procedures.</li><li>Focus on internal controls and continuous improvement, including monthly validations of balance sheet accounts, journal entries, and other critical items.</li><li>Assist with interim and year-end audits.</li><li>Assist with year-end taxes.</li><li>Analyze information and options by developing spreadsheets and other ad hoc reports as needed.</li><li>Develop and implement accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes.</li><li>Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.</li><li>Assist Management with system implementations and testing.</li><li>Collaborate with Finance Department personnel and other teammates, as necessary.</li><li>Cross train with other members of Corporate Accounting team.</li><li>Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.</li><li>All other duties as requested.</li></ul>Job RequirementsEducation, Essential Training / Certifications and Experience:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience with Financial Accounting Standards.</li><li>2-5 years experience in accounting field, preferably in a Corporate Accounting setting.</li><li>At least 1 year of demonstrated automated general ledger accounting experience.</li><li>At least 1 year of intermediate level experience with spreadsheet applications. </li></ul>Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: <ul><li>Knowledge of SFAS rules.</li><li>Knowledge of Sage 500 is desirable.</li><li>Intermediate proficiency in word, accounting, and spreadsheet software and applications.</li><li>Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.</li><li>Initiative in understanding process flows and internal controls.</li><li>Self-motivated to learn, discover, improve, and grow.</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>Ability to work well in a team environment that promotes inclusiveness and communication among team members.</li><li>Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.</li></ul>

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff, and clinical team . This is done to reclassify patient’s that have insurance, thus removing these patients from the Labcorp account balance that Health Care Partners of SC owes.

Position Summary:  The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining the Health Care Partners of SC, Inc. general ledger.  These tasks are noted below. RESPONSIBILITIES:·         Assist the Senior Accountant and be familiar with Senior Accountant job duties.·         Post bank deposits into Sage general ledger.·         Prepare daily ACH report and submit to Billing.·         Manageandauditpettycash.·         Collect needed W-9’s for new vendors.·         Documents and retains monthly OIG audits for vendors.·         Process patient refunds as requested by Billing and approved by the CFO.·         Process checks from the CFO approved accounts payable list.·         Collects deposits from front desk, pharmacy and billing. Go to bank to make deposits.  Also mails accounts payable check made out to vendors.·         Process, for deposit, manual checks using Anderson Brothers Bank automated deposit machine.·         Post monthly eCW information into general ledger.·         Post McKesson and Cardinal invoices in Sage·         Enters floor stock on spreadsheet for month end analysis.·         Record pharmacy bad debt.·         Adjusts Sage general ledger pharmacy inventory to pharmacy point-of-sales system.·         Reviews Labcorp statements by identifying the patient payor source.  This is done to reclassify patient’s that have insurance, thus removing these patients from the Labcorp account balance that Health Care Partners of SC owes.·         Record new fixed assets to the fixed assets spreadsheet.·         Update by calculating depreciation for the fixed assets on the spreadsheet and post to general ledger.·         Assist Accounting department with updating Accounts Payable in Sage.·         Work with Senior Accountant and CFO on special projects.·         Other assignments as directed by the CFO. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS: ·         Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance Management required ·         3+ years of general accounting experience ·         Experience in an FQHC setting preferred   KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:·         Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards·         Ability to meet strict deadlines·         Strong attention to detail·         Efficient with time management·         Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)·         Knowledge in health information practices, concepts, and legal requirements·         Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff, and clinical team ·         Ability to work in a fast-paced office setting
