KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Working with residents and families on admissions 85% of timeInterview residents, guardians, family members or responsible parties and obtain required admission information and signaturesGive tours of the facility to all interested parties including residents, family members and community referrals sources and guestsProvide residents with admission information packet (e.g., resident rights, notice of privacy practices, admissions contract, etc.)Collect, assemble, and check admission papersAdmit residents in accordance with established policies and proceduresPrepare identification records for residentsMaintain a current listing of all residents and assigned room numbersTrack inquiries, denials, rejections, admissions and related information into the appropriate programsAbstract information from records as authorized/required for insurance companiesReview and explain to the resident, and /or guardian, room rates, billing procedures, guest privileges, resident care procedures, etcMaintain a resident waiting listWork with the Administrator to identify and develop an Admission Support Team, to include Administrator, department heads, etcAssist with implementation of the Marketing Plan tactics to include special events targeted at community education, establishing facility as the expert in skilled nursing, specialty programs, and rehabilitation careMonitor and evaluate customer satisfaction surveys Demonstrate a passion for caring as evidenced by interaction with co-workers, residents, families, and visitorsPerform all other duties, as assignedSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:Must be knowledgeable of reimbursement regulations and nursing practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to nursing facility administrationMust have marketing experience in a hospital setting Must be knowledgeable of computer systems, system applications, and other office equipmentEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Education: A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university is preferred, but will consider an Associate's Degree with related clinical experience Experience: Two (2) years' experience in a healthcare setting is preferredJOB TRAINING:How long it usually takes to completely perform this job when the incumbent has the minimum knowledge, skills, abilities, work experience and/or education: up to 6 monthsWORK ENVIRONMENT:Works in all areas of the facility Moves intermittently during working hours Is subject to frequent interruptionsIs involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, etcCommunicates with the maintenance personnel, nursing staff, and other department supervisorsWorks beyond normal duty hours, on weekends, and in other positions temporarily, when necessaryIs subject to call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.)Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position.
