In addition to the general oversight of the department, they will be responsible for strategic planning, budget development, management, and allocation, recruitment and retention of faculty and students, faculty staff, and student development, management, and improvement of curricula, evaluating faculty performance, program assessments, and reviews, obtaining and maintaining accreditation, developing external partnerships, interacting with other departments and university leaders to represent the goals of the department. The Department of Psychology is a supportive community of committed faculty and practitioners whose goals are to introduce students to the ideas and concepts relevant to this discipline, encourage interdisciplinary learning, prepare students for study in graduate schools, prepare students for entry-level jobs requiring knowledge in psychology, and train students to conduct both basic and applied research.
