Graduation from high school and at least 1 year of specialized training in automobile and equipment mechanics, plus at least 1-3 years of automotive mechanic experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the following knowledge, ability and skills: Knowledge of: Techniques and practices, tools, equipment and materials used in automotive mechanics. May be exposed to adverse weather or unpleasant conditions such as heat, cold, wetness and humidity; dim or bright lights, dust, odors, noise, vibrations, toxic agents, asbestos, lead paint, electrical currents, heavy machinery; and occasionally violence, smoke and disease.
