This position plays a key role in leading local HR functions, supporting compliance operations, and ensuring our workforce remains safe, supported, and aligned with company goals.</p><p>The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a proactive mindset, and a working knowledge of HR best practices in a fast-paced aviation environment.</p><h3>Position Summary & Essential Functions</h3><p>Conducts general HR and compliance duties, assists and coordinates with HR benefits.</p><h3>Summary / Objective</h3><p>This position conducts general HR duties, including maintain handbooks, policies and procedures, HRIS management, recruiting staff, onboarding employees and employee relations matters. This position implements local HR functions and supports corporate HR functions as needed. The HR Generalist & Compliance Coordinator also ensures plans are administered in accordance with federal and state regulations and plan provisions are followed. Implements compliance functions under guidance of compliance director.</p><h3>Educational Background / Experience</h3><ul><li>High School Diploma / GED</li><li>Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Business or HR not required</li><li>PHR / SHRM certification required</li><li>3+ years of HR Experience required</li><li>PHR / SHRM certification preferred</li></ul><h3>General Qualifications / Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA)</h3><ul><li>Ability to interpret and understand STS Corp. culture and structure.</li><li>Ability to interact with all levels of employees from top level managers to entry level employees.</li><li>Ability to work as part of a team as well as individually on projects.</li><li>Ability to lead, motivate and train others.</li><li>Knowledgeable in Federal, State and Local labor laws</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. Maintain related records. New employee processing and onboarding process. Conduct new-employee orientations ensure employees gain an understanding of company policies, benefits, and benefit enrollment provisions.</li><li>Assist with annual open enrollment period during 4th quarter of each year. Assist with distribution of plan summary materials and required notices, assist with communicating changes to employees and arrange for onsite representation by providers.</li><li>Complete reports for management as requested.</li><li>Act as a resource for payroll/HR contacts to ensure their understanding and compliance with benefits and HR policies and regulations.</li><li>Keep management advised of potential problem areas and recommend/implement solutions as appropriate.</li><li>Point of contact for employee relations matters.
