WSYX/WTTE is seeking a dynamic, authentic, and community-focused Anchor/Reporter.This role requires a strong newsroom leader at the anchor desk and a driven journalist in the field. The ideal candidate demonstrates sound news judgment, thrives in breaking news, and delivers compelling storytelling across broadcast, digital, and social platforms.You will be expected to produce daily content on a variety of platforms including television, web, and social media.Primary Responsibilities Anchoring Anchor assigned newscasts with professionalism, credibility, and conversational delivery Collaborate with producers and newsroom leadership to shape compelling, audience-focused newscasts Lead breaking news coverage with urgency and composure Conduct live interviews in-studio and remotely Write and edit scripts to ensure clarity, accuracy, and adherence to journalistic standardsReporting Generate enterprise story ideas daily Deliver live shots and field reports under tight deadlines Produce clear, concise, and impactful packages Demonstrate strong knowledge of news and current events Uphold journalistic ethics, libel, and privacy standards in all reportingEditorial & Newsroom Standards Participate in daily story meetings and contribute meaningful story development Engage in multiplatform storyboarding and real-time editorial collaboration Work closely with producers, reporters, and newsroom leadership to execute the station’s content strategyDigital & Community Engagement Contribute content to the website and digital platforms Maintain an active social media presence to build your brand and engage viewers Represent the station at public appearances and community eventsQualifications & Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or related field, or equivalent experience Minimum 5 years of on-air experience (market dependent) Strong live shot experience required Excellent written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated ability to enterprise stories and think creatively Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record Flexibility to work any shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as neededWhat We’re Looking For Strong news judgment and ethical decision-making A collaborative team player who helps foster a positive newsroom culture A journalist who understands the importance of connecting with audiences on every platform Someone who embodies Sinclair’s commitment to innovation, community, and excellenceWhile applying online, please include a link to your online demo reelEEO AND INCLUSIVITY:Sinclair is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and a drug free workplace. As a Field Inspector covering Pickaway County, you will perform residential occupancy verifications. These are brief, exterior visits to confirm property status and report on general conditions.</p><ul><li><strong>Autonomy:</strong> You manage your own routing, schedule, and territory.</li><li><strong>Efficiency:</strong> Standard inspections are designed for speed, typically requiring only 5–6 minutes on-site.</li><li><strong>Consistency:</strong> Enjoy stable, month-to-month volume in your assigned county.</li></ul><h3>Workflow & Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Determine property occupancy status based on industry-standard indicators.</li><li>Capture 9+ photos and submit brief reports using industry-standard mobile applications.</li><li>Maintain a high level of reliability regarding territory coverage and deadlines.</li></ul><p><em>Note: This role requires spending extended periods of time driving and making numerous stops throughout the day in your assigned territory. This territory covers a dense metro area where familiarity with city driving, parking, and navigating multi-unit properties is helpful.</em></p><h3>Requirements</h3><p>As an independent contractor, you are responsible for providing your own equipment, including:</p><ul><li>Reliable, fuel-efficient vehicle.</li><li>Smartphone (Android or iPhone) capable of running mobile reporting apps.</li><li>Computer with an internet connection and a printer.</li><li>Strong time-management skills to meet deadlines without direct supervision.</li><li>Ability to pass a standard background check.</li></ul><h3>Earnings & Volume</h3><ul><li><strong>Flat-Rate Pay:</strong> This is a 1099 position where you are paid a set fee for every inspection completed.</li><li><strong>Earning Potential:</strong> While pay is per-inspection, efficient contractors typically earn the equivalent of $25–$35 per hour.</li><li><strong>Volume:</strong> Rates and inspection volume vary by county.
