Position Summary:
The Kitchen Systems/Fire Extinguisher Technician at Marmic Fire and Safety is responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of kitchen fire suppression systems and fire extinguishers. This role ensures that all kitchen fire protection systems are fully operational and compliant with safety standards and regulations. The technician will work on-site to support both commercial and residential kitchens, handling various tasks from system setup to routine maintenance. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, strong customer service skills, and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards.

Core Responsibilities:
Installation and Setup:<ul><li>Install new kitchen fire suppression systems and fire extinguishers according to manufacturer specifications, local safety regulations, and NFPA codes.</li><li>Ensure systems are properly mounted and positioned for optimal safety and compliance.</li></ul>Inspection and Maintenance:<ul><li>Conduct thorough inspections of fire extinguishers in accordance with NFPA 10 and kitchen extinguishing systems per NFPA 17-17A and UL 300.</li><li>Inspect, maintain, and repair pre-engineered restaurant fire suppression systems manufactured by ANSUL, Pyro Chem, RangeGuard, Kidde, Piranha, and other brands.</li><li>Perform routine maintenance and service tasks, ensuring all equipment is operational and compliant with safety codes.</li></ul>Repair and Troubleshooting:<ul><li>Diagnose and perform on-site emergency troubleshooting of fire suppression systems.</li><li>Address any malfunctions, deficiencies, or non-conformance issues identified during inspections.</li></ul>Documentation and Reporting:<ul><li>Prepare accurate and timely inspection reports, including obtaining customer signatures and ensuring detailed records are submitted daily.</li><li>Maintain comprehensive documentation of inspections, maintenance, and repairs.</li></ul>Customer Interaction:<ul><li>Communicate effectively and professionally with clients to schedule service appointments, provide updates, and address any concerns regarding their kitchen fire protection systems.</li><li>Deliver excellent customer service and offer recommendations for system maintenance, upgrades, and compliance.</li></ul>Compliance and Safety:<ul><li>Understand and apply NFPA codes, manufacturer specifications, and local fire codes for restaurant fire suppression systems and fire extinguishers.</li><li>Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a clean and safe work environment.</li><li>Follow company policies and industry regulations to ensure compliance with fire safety standards.</li></ul>Learning and Development:<ul><li>Participate in ongoing training to stay current with industry standards, technologies, and best practices in kitchen fire suppression systems and fire extinguisher maintenance.</li><li>Continuously improve technical skills and knowledge related to fire protection systems.</li></ul> The above information has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees in this role. Minimum Qualifications:
<ul><li>Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a professional attitude.</li><li>Basic understanding of fire suppression systems and fire extinguishers is a plus, but not required for entry-level candidates.</li><li>Ability to use hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and basic repair tools.</li><li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li><li>Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methods.</li><li>Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.</li><li>Must pass pre-employment background checks and drug screenings, with ongoing compliance throughout employment.</li><li>Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting and moving equipment over 50 lbs, and working in challenging positions such as climbing ladders and working in confined spaces.</li><li>Willingness to work flexible hours and be on-call as needed.</li></ul>

Preferred Qualifications:
<ul><li>Certification or coursework in fire suppression systems or fire protection.</li><li>Previous experience working with kitchen fire suppression systems and fire extinguishers.</li><li>Familiarity with NFPA codes, including NFPA 10, NFPA 17-17A, UL 300, and local fire codes.</li><li>Experience with brands such as ANSUL, Pyro Chem, RangeGuard, Kidde, and Piranha.</li><li>Ability to communicate effectively in multiple languages.</li></ul>

This consists of cabinets, counter tops, flooring and appliances/hardware.  Essential Functions:<ul><li>Provide excellent service to customers. </li><li>Treat all team members, vendors, and customers with courtesy and respect.</li><li>Greet and assist customers in a positive, approachable manner. Answer questions and resolve customer concerns. Advise customers on solutions to projects and problems. Offer solutions with add on sales when appropriate. </li><li>Assist customers with interior designs for their home or project.</li><li>Become well educated in the product lines available to GHC. Seek continued education on changes to available product lines. Stay educated on industry trends</li><li>Utilize various software including; Saberis, 20/20, and Spruce to create accurate designs and layouts, quotes, customer orders, purchase orders, and sales invoices</li><li>Respond to customer inquiries regarding product selection, placement of orders, requests for prices and quotations, customer concerns, and scheduling of deliveries and installations.</li><li>Thoroughly explain orders to customers. Require their sign off before placing any purchase orders.</li><li>Order product in correct color, size and quantity from the vendor. Immediately inform vendor and Sales Manager of discrepancies or other issues with orders. Process returns to vendors and follow up to ensure credits are issued.</li><li>Ensure that all product is invoiced before leaving the store.</li><li>Research credits, returns, and late payments as needed.</li><li>Follow-up with customer from quote to project completion.</li><li>Travel to homes or job sites to take measurements, ensure compatibility of product with the job site. Consult with homeowner or contractor regarding layout specifications.</li><li>Work with the Sales Manager to resolve any customer complaints, product damage, or other issues.</li><li>Provide in store support as needed including, but not limited to ringing out customers, price changes, cycle counts, other customer service duties, etc.</li><li>Ensure a safe working environment. Maintain situational awareness.
