<h3>Description</h3> <div>As a PCB Librarian, you will be responsible for managing PCB component</div><div>libraries and associated design data for Impulse avionics and RF products. You will ensure that schematic symbols, footprints, and part metadata are accurate and ready for use in flight PCBA designs that need to survive in a space environment. In this role you will work closely with electrical, RF, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to drive standardization and enable rapid, reliable, and high-quality hardware development.</div> <h3>Responsibilities</h3> <ul><li>Own the creation, maintenance, and standardization of PCB component libraries (symbols, footprints, 3D models, and metadata) for avionics hardware</li><li>Ensure libraries are accurate, manufacturable, and compliant with IPC Class 2/3 standards</li><li>Collaborate with electrical engineers to translate schematic and layout into reliable, reusable library components</li><li>Review new component requests and validate footprints, 3D models, pin assignments and layout constraints</li><li>Mentor engineers on library best practices, IPC standards, and DFM considerations</li><li>Collaborate across electrical, mechanical, systems, and manufacturing teams to ensure library and design alignment</li></ul> <h3>Minimum Qualifications</h3> <ul><li>5+ years of experience in PCB design, component management, or electronics hardware development</li><li> Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or comparable practical experience </li><li>Strong proficiency in Altium (preferred) or equivalent professional PCB design tools</li><li>Experience managing component libraries, including symbols, footprints, 3D models, and metadata</li><li>Solid understanding of high density, multilayer PCB design practices</li><li>Knowledge of PCB fabrication, assembly processes, materials, and manufacturing constraints</li><li>Ability to work effectively in cross functional engineering teams and communicate across disciplines</li></ul> <h3>Preferred Skills and Experience</h3> <ul><li>Familiarity with boards containing microcontrollers, FPGAs, high speed interfaces, RF/mixed signal circuits, or power management</li><li>Knowledge of IPC industry standards </li><li>Familiarity with signal and power integrity concepts</li><li>Experience with high reliability requirements</li><li>Ability to mentor engineers and improve overall library and design quality</li><li>Experience in a startup or agile development environment</li></ul><div> Additional Information: Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. Responsibilities:
The Assistant Director for Career Development, Private Sector (AD) provides expert career counseling to UCI Law’s 500 J.D. students, in particular those students interested in pursuing private sector legal careers. The AD utilizes their contacts in the private sector legal community and their in-depth knowledge and expertise of the evolving job market in this community to provide individually tailored career counseling to J.D. students interested in law clerk and summer associate positions, or post graduate careers in the private sector. In addition to maintaining and enhancing existing contacts in the private sector legal community, the AD must establish and cultivate new relationships. To ensure that J.D. students have the best available access to private sector networking and job opportunities, the AD must be an active member of local and national associations such as the National Association of Law Placement, San Diego Legal Recruitment Association, Orange County Legal Recruitment Association, Los Angeles Area Legal Recruitment Association, and Bay Area Legal Recruitment Association. As a recognized leader in providing private interest career advice and an expert in the private sector legal market, the AD is expected to make meaningful contributions to these organizations by presenting at conferences or contributing to articles or other initiatives. The AD is also expected to participate in the leadership of these organizations. To increase private sector opportunities for J.D. students, the AD also independently formulates recruiting strategies related to employer participation in UCI Law’s on-campus interview programs. To successfully do so, the AD must have knowledge of the current state and future direction of the job market, be familiar with relevant information resources, and be able to conduct research effectively and efficiently.
