They will prepare patients for examinations, provide routing information related to medical treatments and procedures, measure and record vital signs, collect and label specimens, perform all CLIA-waived/POCT testing; assist clinical staff with procedures, treatments and exams, maintain exam rooms, monitor supplies, stock and equipment; as well as administrative tasks associated with patient encounters. Healthcare workers (HCW) are defined as university employees working a healthcare setting who have the potential for direct or indirect exposure to patients, human research subjects or infectious materials including body substance, contaminated medical supplies, devices and equipment, surfaces, or air.
