Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.Job Requirements<ul><li>Education:</li><li>Completion of an approved nuclear medicine program</li><li>Work Experience:</li><li>None</li><li>Preferred - Nuclear medicine experience</li><li>Certifications:</li><li>Registered in Nuclear Medicine by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or equivalent body as recognized by the American College of Radiology (ACR), or Intersocietal Commission Accreditation Nuclear Medicine Laboratories (ICANL) OR registry eligible, registered within 90 days of employment, and temporary state license</li><li>Current unrestricted license in state of practice</li><li>Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association</li></ul>Job Duties<ul><li>Verifies physician order and procedure to ensure accuracy</li><li>Uses radiology information systems to facilitate care</li><li>Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding</li><li>Independently operates equipment to complete imaging procedure according to protocol (including placement of IV and administration of radiopharmaceuticals)</li><li>Reviews patient images prior to transmission to ensure images meet diagnostic quality standards</li><li>Completes timely quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standards and performing notification/remediation as warranted</li><li>Leads departmental programs, protocol development, system standardization, competency validation, safety programs, accreditation, and quality/efficiency initiatives</li><li>Assists in the orientation and training of junior staff; provides feedback to annual staff evaluations</li><li>Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style</li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned</li></ul>Physical and Environmental DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
