Essential functions include administering assigned human resources programs and processes; assisting with recruitment, selection, appointments, classification, compensation, benefits, performance evaluation, training, and employee engagement activities; advising managers, supervisors, and employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and employee relations matters; reviewing and maintaining confidential personnel records and documentation; preparing reports, correspondence, and HR-related materials; assisting with grievances, investigations, and related follow-up; interpreting and applying applicable HR policies and procedures; communicating effectively with internal and external customers; providing guidance or limited supervision to lower-level HR staff as assigned; maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism; and performing related human resources duties as assigned. Examples of work include assisting with recruitment and selection activities; reviewing applications and personnel documentation; coordinating appointments and other employment actions; assisting with classification and salary-related matters; providing guidance on benefits, performance evaluation, training, employee engagement, and employee relations; responding to employee and supervisor inquiries; assisting with grievances, investigations, and related documentation; preparing HR reports, correspondence, and records; maintaining confidential personnel information; interpreting and applying HR policies and procedures; providing guidance or limited supervision to lower-level HR staff as assigned; and performing related duties as assigned.
