Primarily responsible for the attainment of production and distribution objectives for assigned asphalt plants; effective management and mentoring of subordinates to attain quality and productivity targets, compliance with legislative requirements, plant rules, safe work procedures, practices and work instructions; performs various OH&S program activities such as inspections, training and incident investigations; provides plant and onsite customer service; meets financial targets and budget objectives; interfaces with other functional groups to maintain safe and efficient facilities and processes, carries out employee and labour relations activities as required, works with key product, materials and services suppliers to ensure business needs are adequately addressed, manages operational purchasing requirements, delivers on CAPEX and special projects as business needs exist, oversees materials inventory ordering, control and administration, and works to instil a culture of continuous improvement. Maintains Plant staff performance objectives by providing clear work direction and expectations, providing tools required for performance, supporting and coaching employees; answering grievances, planning, monitoring and appraising performance objectives.
