Operates various equipment, including jet machine, power saw, underground utility locator, water pumps, backhoe, and cranes; Maintains equipment in proper working condition, including checking oil, water, fuel, tires, and hydraulic system, and making appropriate adjustments;Preforms routine maintenance of water system components, water valve maintenance, replacing water meters and meter boxes, preform gallons per minute testing;Flow test, trouble shoots, replaces, and maintains all fire hydrants in the distribution system; Sets up street barricades and detour routes as necessary;Has the necessary skills to excavate around gas, sewer, electric, and telephone lines;Completes work orders;Cleans and maintains vehicles, equipment, yard, and shop;Serves on call duty with wastewater department to respond to after-hours customer water or sewer problems;Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis is a non-supervisory position.
