Required clinical skills: Pitocin titration, fetal scalp electrodes, cervical exams, epidural placement assistance, insulin drip management, magnesium drip management, shoulder dystocia management, circulating C-sections and/or receiving baby in OR, neonatal resuscitation, IUPC placement assistance and monitoring, lactation support, and safe skin-to-skin protocol. Common patient diagnoses include PIH, GDM, pre-eclampsia, eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage, multiples, fetal loss, drug addiction, and cervical ripening.
