Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Critical Care Registered Nurse (Adult, Neonatal, and Pediatric Acute), Trauma Nurse Core Course, Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider, Crisis Prevention Institute, Basic Life Support, NIH Stroke Scale. If ICU needs are unavailable, the nurse is expected to float to inpatient floors as a staff nurse; the nurse may also float to non-critical-care units when ICU census is low, with a ratio of no more than 1:3, and may be asked to serve as a patient sitter if needed.
