Among the key duties of this position are the following: Perform research that will involve managing various mouse colonies, noise exposures, hearing function testing, isolation and microdissections of tissues, multi-label immunohistochemistry, advanced imaging of fixed and live tissue, cellular and molecular biology techniques, cell, and tissue culturing, proteomics, bioinformatics, inner ear delivery of small molecules, genes, or peptides. The research involves using genetic mouse models, breeding, weaning, and genotyping, auditory function assessment, tissue harvesting and microdissection, organ culture, cryosectioning, immunohistochemistry, confocal imaging of fixed and live tissue, flow cytometry, cell sorting, sequencing, bioinformatics, inner-ear delivery, gene or peptide therapy, and basic cellular and molecular biology.
