Demonstrated competency in medical-surgical telemetry, cardiac telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, cardiac drips without titration, intravenous insulin and heparin protocols, vascular access, central and peripheral line care, peripherally inserted central catheter management, port access, phlebotomy, intravenous initiation and maintenance, feeding tube care, blood product administration, pre- and post-hemodialysis management, thrombolytic agents, patient-controlled analgesia, substance withdrawal, orthopedic trauma, traction, oxygen administration, isolation precautions, and care of patients with tracheostomies or ventilators. The role supports patients awaiting inpatient admission and requires expertise in cardiac monitoring, intravenous therapies, vascular access, blood product administration, and complex medical-surgical care.
