Under direction, to assist in the administration and supervision of the Engineering Division; to perform professional engineering work; to supervise and review the work of professional and technical staff engaged in the preparation and/or review of plans, specifications, maps, designs, estimates, and inspections of capital improvement, construction, development and maintenance projects; coordinate the work of Engineering Division with the rest of Public Works. Work in field settings may involve considerable exposure to inclement weather, cold, heat, noise, outdoors, dust, dirt, vibration, chemicals, traffic, traffic hazards, confining workspace, mechanical hazards, electrical hazards, and explosive hazards.
